Today Jerome visited farmers in Oulton to learn about the practicalities of improving soil health as a commercial response to the declining efficacy of chemicals on crops.
Improving soil health by minimising tillage and growing cover crops in addition to cash crops reduces the need for expensive inputs, and is already increasing biodiversity on this farm. This process has the potential to sequester carbon in our farming soils as well.
If we can perfect this technology and apply it around Norfolk and across the country, this would be a game-changer.
