*NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK*
I was delighted to meet a great group of apprentices who taught me about the process of modern apprentices as an alternative to university education.
To my surprise, they said that avoiding student debt was not a big part of their decision but instead that learning (and earning) through the work environment suited them better.
Often government schemes fade away after big announcements, but it was really clear to me that the development of apprenticeships is really hitting the right spot in improving access to the skills and jobs market!
Thank you to South Norfolk & Broadland District Council for letting me meet your apprentice team who I do hope will soon each be going on to be the directors and officers in local government authorities across Norfolk!
