Since 2019, I have worked closely with Norfolk County Council and MPs across Norfolk to make the case for the Norwich Western Link Road. This new road will reduce rat running, congestion and pollution in the neighbouring villages, take congestion off our residential roads and, crucially, improve journey times to the south of the city and the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
I am delighted that we have now secured the £213m worth of investment for this much-needed road and can proceed to deliver the road. This funding enables us to complete this long overdue road around the city which will unlock further economic growth and better connect our community to the rest of the county.
The council will still need to secure permission from its planning committee and complete other legal processes before the works can begin. As always, I will be working closely with Norfolk County Council to ensure that we expedite the delivery of this vital scheme as quickly as possible.
Thank you to all those who have supported this campaign!
