I am so sad to see the destruction of Walsingham’s village hall this week.
Playing with fire can lead to devastating results whether you mean it or not so I am very glad that only property was damaged and no one was hurt.
A village hall can be rebuilt and it is our job to make sure that it is. I will work with the Parish Council to assess what needs to be done to restore this community asset as soon as we can.
Thank you to Norfolk Fire and Rescue and the local people whose swift action brought the fire under control.
