I spent a day in Fakenham last week to visit Fakenham Junior School to discuss the problems with the ceilings in some parts of the school which were discovered at the end of the summer holidays. Executive Head, Adam Mason, and his team worked quickly in challenging circumstances to ensure the school could safely open for all children. Adam also invited me to Fakenham Infant & Nursery School to meet staff and children and it was a pleasure to see children so engaged in their learning.
A visit for lunch to the Market Square on market day and time spent with constituents who wanted to talk about accessible play equipment, the ceiling issues at Fakenham Junior School and mobile phone coverage. I was also able to catch up with Beat Sergeant Jessica Elliott and discuss speeding concerns constituents have raised with me.
After lunch I visited Little Angels Pre-School to talk to Ritta Bridges about their future plans and rounded the day off with a visit to the Duke of Lancaster School to meet Elizabeth Berneveld, the new Head of School, to discuss special needs education in Norfolk.
