Jerome has welcomed the recent announcement from the Department for Education that two local schools are going to benefit from the Condition Improvement Fund (CIF).
On 29 June the Government announced that £560 million of additional condition funding would be made available this year to maintain and improve the condition of the school estate. This is in addition to the £1.45 billion already provided for school maintenance in the financial year 2020-21.
Commenting Jerome said: “I am really pleased that the Government have chosen the Fakenham Academy and the Blenheim Park Academy to be trailblazers for the new CIF fund. This new funding will ensure our local school buildings are kept safe and in working order, and will allow the Fakenham Academy to install new windows and upgrade the building fabric of the Blenheim Park Academy.”
“In addition to the CIF, I am delighted that the Government has committed to a new ten-year multi-wave rebuilding programme for schools. This will be an ambitious programme, replacing poor condition and ageing school buildings, with modern, energy efficient designs, transforming education for thousands of pupils.”
