It was great to visit Acle Pre-School and speak to the team about some of the challenges facing childcare and early years learning at the moment.
Young children have disproportionately lost out as a result of the lockdowns and the pandemic. These have impacted on their social skills, important personal developmental phases in their lives and their academic growth.
Like the team, I do believe that any changes to childcare can only be made if it can be shown the proposals still have the children’s development and safety at heart.
I’ll be closely following this as and when any proposals come forward.
