In this event, chaired by Jerome Mayhew MP, panellists discussed the important role innovation, science, and technology could play in decarbonising agriculture in line with reaching net zero emissions by 2050.
The panel explored how solutions such as vertical indoor farming, zero tillage, gene editing, and precision farming could affect both productivity and the environmental impacts of agriculture. The panel also discussed how parliamentarians can support innovative, practical land use policy compatible with the UK’s climate targets.
