Following the Sewell Report which was published last year, I asked the Minister of State for Equalities about its findings. Government strategy should be based on evidence and not ideology. Suggesting, as some have, that all minority discrimination is caused by majority discrimination is decisive, diverts attention away from the real causes of discrimination as were found by the Commission and is incomptabile with a sense of belonging that is needed in society.
