I was proud to take part in the celebrations today for the first birthday of Amara - the mobile cancer care unit often found in Broadland.
The vehicle is part of an innovative partnership between the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the cancer charity Hope for Tomorrow.
It has helped thousands of patients, including many of my residents, and has brought them the specialist help and clinical support nearer to home whilst simultaneously trying to ease the anxiety that is often experienced in a hospital setting.
It is a game changer for many residents and it just one of the many things that the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is doing to improve patient care for those working through treatment.
Happy Birthday Amara, and thank you to all of the clinicians who staff it and help save lives!
