Her Majesty the Queen has been a reassuring and constant part of my life, and the life of our country, for as long as I can remember.
She was dedicated, responsible, reliable and a role model for us all. She has been a part of all our families and it is as a family member that we all mourn Her Majesty tonight.
Tomorrow, I will swear allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III in the Chamber of the House of Commons but this evening I walked up the Mall to Buckingham Palace with my friend, and colleague, Duncan Baker MP to pay our respects to our great Queen.
